power outages

Dear CMP Shingle Springs Community,

We had a delightful day at school today with half of our students having access to power in their classrooms (K-3rd) and half of our students experiencing school the old-fashioned way with textbooks, paper and pencils (4th-8th)! While we didn't have our full phone system working, we were able to forward our incoming calls to a couple of cell devices and used walkie talkies to communicate with each other on campus. It's amazing what we can accomplish without all of our creature comforts.

We have reviewed the latest communications from PG&E and see that we shouldn't have any additional planned shutdowns in our area, so we will have a full school day tomorrow, Thursday, October 10thIn addition, our morning and afternoon Club M programs will be open to support you!  We anticipate that our Lower Campus will continue to have power.  If power is not restored to the Upper Campus, we are now well versed in how to successfully work with our "old-fashioned tools"!  We have all the important things we need: running water, working toilets, and great attitudes!

If you need to reach us, please continue to use our main school phone line, or connect with us through ParentSquare. We are using a few hotspots to access email, but phone calls or messages through ParentSquare are preferred. If your child will be late or absent for any reason, please message Tricia Dodd through ParentSquare.

Thank you for your continued support ... and if you're one of those lucky families with power at home, feel free to bring a thermos of hot coffee to share with our staff!!!
